I never take the train from the port. Sharing an independent transfer is always the easiest if not on an expensive ship excursion.

Do you have to book the shuttle from the pier to the train station? And can you bring luggage on the shuttle? Rome will be our last stop from the cruise. Thank you for the good info!

We are disembarking at Civitavecchia with all our luggage and need to get a transfer to spend the night in Rome then a transfer to the Fiumicino airport the next day. Do you have any suggestions please.

You can take the transfer from Civitavecchia to Rome and then the day after you can take the Leonardo express train to Fiumicino. We made a vero about the Fiumicino train 😊

I'm doing the opposite, starting off in Rome so that I have more than a day in the eternal city, then making out way towards Lisbon.

Hello Rick and Andrea, I love your channel! Quick question regarding shuttle bus. Are you referring to the Portmobility shuttle that takes us to the station? Do they pick up from the port or do we have to shuttle first to Largo de la Pace before boarding the Portmobility shuttle? Do we pay directly to the driver as we board, or is there an office that we go to pay first before boarding the bus? Thanks so much and wish you the best!

Hello there, thank you for your comment. There are 2 shuttles one that takes you to the train station and yes you have to pay the driver or you can buy the tickets on line. The second shuttle takes you to Largo della Pace not the station
